Sgt. Philip V. Mandra


 Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment, 1st Marine Division.

He was born on May 2, 1931 in Queens County, New York, USA. He was last seen on a hill called Bronco, later renamed Hook, North Korea on August 7, 1952.

He was wounded in action on July 5, 1952 and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for Conspicuos Gallantry. He was wounded again by a concussion grenade on August 7, 1952 and captured. He is believed to be held captive in Russia.
