By Aidan Foster-Carter - I hardly have to remind you what the headlines were around the world on September 12. But not quite everywhere. The top story for Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea's official news bureau, was this: "Joint Seminar of Russian Juche idea study groups held". Yup, that was the really big news that day. The DPRK was praised for achieving "one great success after another in the international arena despite the vicious "maneuvers of the United States-led imperialists".

09/12 kww: North Korea over New York Catastrophe - No Comments at all? by Brent Choi (Joongang Ilbo) - The latest terror committed in the U.S. and the issue of North Korea has little connections in itself but not completely off the track. North Korea used to be one of the training grounds for Arab terrorists and is still listed as one of the terror-supporting nations-list by the United States. And besides, in this entangled world we now live in, almost everything is connected to each other one way or the other. Now with one of the U.S.'s landmark twin World Trade Center building - both of them- smashed down to pieces President George W. Bush is most likely to practice even sterner foreign policy in the future and one of the nations that would particularly beat the burden will be Korean Peninsula.

09/9 kww: US Forces in Korea and Environment The U.S. forces in Korea exist in order to prevent another war on the Korean Peninsula. They are here to deter another invasion from North Korea. If North Korea were not a dangerous state, then the stay of U.S. forces in Korea would not be necessary. Many Korean people appreciate the presence of the U.S. forces in Korea, but recently their environmental mismanagement has had a negative impact on their image. It is problematic and troublesome and I hope this kind of mismanagement does not fuel anti-American sentiment.

Dear Leader Kim Jong-il should be complimented for having opened his Hermit Kingdom to the modest pizza and Chef Ermanno Furlanis's journey to the Land of the Morning Calm is of the stuff that legends are made of.
09/5 kww: Kim Gu's Assassin, Ahn Doo Whi, was an American Agent - Ahn Doo Whi, who shot and killed Kim Goo on June 26, 1949, was a key employee of the US Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) in Korea. This fact was established on September 4, 2001. It was also disclosed that Yum Ung Taek, aka Yum Dong Jin, may have master-minded Kim Gu's murder. Yum led an ultra-rightist terrorist group, White Angels Association (Baik-yi-sah), Yum's group was active in anti-communist terrorism.
