02/27 kww: Iran & North Korea Will Be Next Targets - Mahathir -- Western powers are using terrorism as a pretext to conquer the world and will target Iran and North Korea once they succeed in Iraq, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Sunday. Leaders of the developed countries have become "like a people of the Stone Age where for them, the solution to a problem is by killing people.

02/26 kww: Roh Moo Hyun Becomes South Korea's New President  -- In his inaugural speech, he regrettably toted the Bush line on North Korea:  namely, North Korea must renounce its nuclear program before US military threats and economic sanctions would be lifted.  What North Korea has been demanding is negotiated tradeoff of its nuclear program for security.  If North Korea is to give up its nuclear security blanket first, who would guarantee its security?  

02/25 kww: North Korea Informed Japan of Missile Tests -- North Korea gave the Japan Coast Guard an advance notice of anti-ship cruise missile tests, but the Coast Guard failed to pass on the advance notice to other Japanese government agencies. North Korea fired an anti-ship cruise missile in the morning of February 24th but the missile failed the test and another was fired in the afternoon successfully. 

02/24 kww: Bush's Next War - North Korea: A War Scenario --  It is likely that Kim Jong Il and most of his troops would die in a new war but there would be enough hardcore troops left alive to carry on the fight. Millions will die in Korea. Kim will see to it that many more millions will die in Japan and in the United States.  Bush's generals apparently believe that beating Kim will be a cake-walk.  Bush may not have to wait long to learn the truth.

02/23 kww: Coping With North Korea --  The Bush administration's de facto policy of "hostile neglect" toward Pyongyang has been a fundamental source of the current crisis. Although North Korea's uranium-based program began well before Bush took office, the current administration bears responsibility for inciting acceleration of Korea's nuclear program and for fostering the fragile conditions under which the program's revelation quickly precipitated a complete breakdown of U.S.-North Korea relations.

Roh is part of a trend that raises the hackles of the Bush administration: outspoken and uncowed allies. Roh joins an axis of independence that includes France's Jacques Chirac and Germany's Gerhard Schroeder. With friends like these, the Bush team laments, who needs an axis of evil? What's bad for Bush, however, is a boon for the rest of the world and particularly for the Korean peninsula. Roh Moo Hyun is the world's best hope for avoiding war in East Asia. 

02/23 kww: HIGH TIME FOR CONDI, COLIN TO GO (Niagarafalls) -- Bush should can Colin Powell and Condi and do it right now! They have failed the president, the nation and humanity and firing the two would help restore some fragment of respect and credibility for the United States around the world. The Secretary of State and the National Security Adviser are the worst combo we've had since Henry Kissinger effectively held both positions with alternating titles. 

02/22 kww: Newsweek interviews President Roh Moo Hyun -- South Korea's new president Roh vows he would never “kowtow” to America, but would demand to be treated as an equal.  Major U.S. media and government officials are mentioning the possibility of attacking North Korea. It is a life-or-death issue for the Korean people.

02/22 kww: China Rejects US Appeal on North Korea -- Chinese officials rejected Secretary of State Colin Powell's appeal Monday for a regional approach to the North Korean nuclear standoff and called for direct talks between the United States and Pyongyang to resolve concerns over the communist nation's nuclear weapons programs.

02/21 kww: Rumsfeld was on ABB board during nuclear deal with North Korea -- The Swiss-based ABB on Friday told swissinfo that Rumsfeld was involved with the company in early 2000, when it netted a $200 million contract with Pyongyang. The ABB contract was to deliver equipment and services for two nuclear power stations at Kumho, on North Korea’s east coast.
